Privacy policy

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers the Fukaha iOS and Android apps, their sharing extensions, and the web app at fukaha.shenepoy.com. Features differ by platform. The web app does not perform native media downloads or short-link resolution.

2. Links and information on your device

Fukaha processes the links and text you paste or explicitly share with it to extract a URL, remove supported tracking parameters, and prepare the result. Fukaha does not maintain a central database of your links or require you to upload them to a Fukaha account.

Your settings—including language, theme, default actions, preferred preview sources, and source-check results or favorites where available—are saved in local app or browser storage. On iOS, the app and its extensions share settings and downloaded files through an App Group on your device.

If you configure a Cobalt server, its address and any API key you enter are stored in your device's app settings. Downloaded media is cached locally so you can share it. A copy you save to Files, Photos, or another app is then managed by that destination. Copying a link places it on your system clipboard.

3. When a link leaves your device

• Short links: when enabled in the native app, resolving a short link contacts that link's server and follows redirects. Those servers receive the requested URL and ordinary connection information, such as your IP address.
• Preview sources: constructing an embed-friendly link rewrites its address locally. Opening or sharing it can cause your browser, the receiving app, or a preview service to request it. Manually running source or preview checks, where supported, also sends requests to those providers.
• Media downloads: this optional feature sends the media URL and configured API key to the HTTPS Cobalt server you choose. Downloading the resulting file also contacts the media host returned by that server. No default download server is bundled.
• Sharing: the app or service you select receives the link or media you choose to share.
• Update checks: checking for updates in a native app contacts GitHub and sends ordinary request information, including the app version and IP address.

External services operate under their own privacy policies and retention rules. Choose providers you trust, and avoid sharing links containing private access tokens or personal information. You can use basic link cleaning without configuring a download server.

4. Website hosting and fonts

The website uses Google Firebase Hosting. Google processes incoming IP addresses to serve the site, detect abuse, and provide hosting usage information. Google states that Hosting retains IP data for a few months; see Firebase's privacy information.

The web app loads Cairo and Material Symbols from Google Fonts. Those requests expose ordinary connection information to Google; see Google Fonts privacy information. This privacy page and the support page use system fonts and do not load Google Fonts.

The web app uses browser storage and a service worker to save settings and cache files for offline use. Fukaha does not add advertising cookies or analytics tracking to these pages. A shared-link query in a web app navigation may be included in the request received by the hosting service.

5. Support and beta testing

If you contact us through GitHub, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your username, issue description, and screenshots. We use it to respond and investigate problems. GitHub issues are public: do not include private URLs, API keys, or personal details. GitHub's privacy statement also applies.

When you use a TestFlight build, Apple automatically collects crash and usage information and shares it with us through App Store Connect. This can include device and OS information, testing activity, and your name or email depending on how you were invited. Feedback you submit can include comments and screenshots. We use these records to investigate problems and improve Fukaha, not for advertising. This is separate from analytics embedded in Fukaha. See Apple's TestFlight privacy information.

6. Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local preferences remain until you change or remove them. Clear the website's site data to remove its saved settings and offline cache. In the native apps, use the cache controls to remove downloaded media; clear app data or delete the app to remove its local data. Device backups and files copied to other apps are managed separately by your operating system and those services.

You can stop optional network actions by turning off short-link resolution, removing the configured download server/API key, and not running preview or source checks. Clearing local data does not delete requests or files already received by third parties.

Support discussions may remain on GitHub to document a resolved problem. You can edit or delete your own comments where GitHub permits, or contact the maintainer to request removal of information we control. Hosting logs follow Google's retention and deletion processes. Apple retains beta feedback for one year and may retain crash and usage records until bugs are resolved. We use the records available in App Store Connect for beta support; contact us about access or deletion requests. Fukaha has no user account to delete.

7. Changes and contact

We will update this page and its effective date when the app's data handling changes. For privacy questions or a request about information you have provided, use the support page or Fukaha issue tracker. Start with a general request without personal information if you need to arrange a private follow-up.
